Farmers Find Hayseed Solution to Oil Spill
Written by Julee Felinski

Could solving the oil spill problem really be this easy - and this GREEN?

Check out this video and decide for yourself!

The Department of Energy employs more than 16,000 full time bureaucrats and 100,000 contractors. CW Roberts and his colleague show how to solve the oil spill problem. We can replace the entire Department of Energy with these two guys. They've produced more value in this video than 16,000 bureaucrats and 100,000 contractors.

Stop Shell Oil from Drilling in the Arctic
Written by Julee Felinski
Friday, 14 May 2010

Hello,
I hope you can spare a few minutes today to help halt plans for drilling in highly sensitive Arctic seas. The spill in the Gulf of Mexico is a stark reminder that offshore drilling accidents have tragic impacts on the environment and economy. America's polar bears and Arctic wildlife deserve better.

Thank you!

Learning this oil disaster in the Gulf is now MUCH WORSE than originally believed, it is UNCONSCIONABLE to consider the continued practice of oil drilling anywhere!!! However,

Shell Oil will start drilling in the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas within weeks.

Your message can help prevent a possible oil spill.

Imagine the next oil spill happening in the remote and highly pristine seas of the Arctic. Shell Oil plans to begin drilling this area in a few weeks. The Obama administration can still say no - with your help!

Take action today to block drilling in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas!

The remote waters of the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas off the north coast of Alaska are home to gray and bowhead whales, more than 3,000 belugas, and endangered fin and humpback whales.

This wild place draws seabirds, seals, and roughly half of America's polar bears. Ninety percent of the entire Pacific walrus population lives here year round.

The disaster in the Gulf is a tragic reminder that there is no fail-safe way to drill for oil offshore. Help us stop oil drilling in the Arctic before it ever begins – and avert another offshore drilling disaster.

Take action today to block drilling in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas!

Under the Bush Administration, millions of acres of the Arctic Ocean were leased to Shell Oil. The Wilderness Society and other conservation groups were able to convince the Obama Administration to review leasing plans there. The WildAlert community's support had a big impact. Now Interior Secretary Salazar's safety review is due out late this month, so we have a small window of time to influence his decision.

An oil spill in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas would have devastating consequences on the marine life there, far from ports or any clean-up support. In fact, Coast Guard commandant Admiral Thad Allen, who is overseeing response efforts in the Gulf, told a recent Senate field hearing in Alaska that oil spill cleanup is "significantly more difficult" in colder temperatures and the [Arctic] region has "limited response resources and capabilities."

Take action now! Urge Secretary Salazar to stop Shell Oil from drilling in the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas.

Time and again the WildAlert community has rallied to block harmful development that values corporate gain over the protection of wild places. We're calling on you once again because we need your support to save these pristine wildlife habitats off the coast of Alaska from oil drilling.

Cold coastal waters are fragile: the bountiful wildlife that call them home can't handle an oil spill like what we've witnessed in the Gulf. Send a message to the Obama administration today, urging them to stop Shell's offshore drilling plans before it's too late.

Thank you for everything you do to preserve our special wild places.

Sincerely,

Kathy Kilmer
The Wilderness Society

The Wilderness Society's mission is to protect wilderness and inspire Americans to care for our wild places.

Urge the Obama administration to say no to drilling in these pristine Seas!

Paving over the Everglades!
Written by Julee Felinski
Monday, 26 April 2010

Dear Friends,

In mere days, developers could be approved to build a chemical storage facility and high-rise corporate tower on top of Everglades wetlands.

This proposed development would be the first of its kind built past Broward's Sawgrass Expressway, opening the floodgates to more pollution and sprawl along a watershed used for our drinking water, as well as Everglades Restoration.

Naturally, developers call this monstrosity "Everglades Corporate Park."

The Everglades belongs to all of us. So, even though you're not from the city of Sunrise, please tell Sunrise City Commissioners not to build a chemical storage complex in the Everglades.

The Everglades is a beloved part of Florida's natural legacy. But pollution and development have claimed more than half of the historic Everglades.

Proposals like Everglades Corporate Park only push the Everglades closer to the point of no return. One major chemical spill would reach the aquifer that serves as a lifeline to the Everglades -- and also supplies South Florida with clean drinking water.

Click here to tell Sunrise Mayor Roger Wishner and the city commissioners to reject Everglades Corporate Park.

Sincerely,

P.S. Thanks again for your support. Please feel free to share this with your family and friends.
